Frisco Snowshoeing

Frisco and the surrounding areas offer many miles of trails to those looking for a quiet day out snowshoeing. As the popular saying goes, “if you can walk, you can snowshoe”. Snowshoeing is a great activity for those who do not ski or snowboard and is extremely quick and easy to learn. The opportunities are endless as snowshoeing gives you access to almost anywhere that you’d normally go on a hike. It is easy to get started on your own, but if you are interested in learning more about the National Forest, Summit County history, wildlife and mountains, a guided tour might be just for you!

Frisco Nordic Center

Located on the Frisco Peninsula right up next to Lake Dillon, the Frisco Nordic Center offers guided and self-guided snowshoe tours for all ages and levels across its 14 kilometers of dedicated snowshoe trails. The trails at the Frisco Nordic Center are well-marked and much safer than just hopping onto a trail in the backcountry, so a guided tour might be for you if you are just getting into snowshoeing.

Frisco Full Moon Snowshoe Tour
The Frisco Nordic Center also offers a Full Moon Snowshoe Tour for anyone 8 and up. It is $60 for ages 21+, and it is $40 for anyone under 21. The price includes snowshoe rentals, a beverage of your choice (wine, beer, or non-alcoholic). The tour meets at 5:00 PM and departs from the Frisco Nordic Center, then returns around 7:00 PM for dinner.
